Peugeot 406 V6 Turbo GT25/40R

The V6 ES9J4 engine is a great engine for the 406; nice sound together with 194 hp and 267 nm. The down sides; few aftermarket parts available and not much physical room left in the engine bay for modifications. But, with a bit of effort enough space can be created to install a turbocharger while the bonnet can still be closed!

This turbo conversion is a low-boost application retaining the stock engine internals and stock compression ratio! We found that, with the components we used, 317 hp and 487 nm is about the maximum power that can be made on 98 octane fuel on the oem compression ratio. An advantage of the high compression ratio is lots of low down torque and responsiveness, making it a very nice motor to drive. The engine has been running in this configuration as a daily driver for over 6 years now with only a few oil changes as maintenance!
