After numerous exterior modifications and with plans for even wilder ones Antwan, owner of the 206, came to us with the question if we could make his engine bay match the extreme exterior the car was going to have, after all a proper show car also needs things sorted under the hood. He wanted to stick with a small capacity eight valve engine but, of course, with 'a bit' more bite.
The plan is to stay, initially, with a stock 1360 cc bottom end but to have an engine setup that has the potential to go far beyond the limits of the oem internals, yet retains drivablitiy.

Perfect Power SMT 7
The SMT7 was designed to allow you to tune ANY engine. Signals are modified on maps found within the units and with windows software. Installation and tuning is simple and once installed the engine can be retuned by anyone with a laptop and the tuning software.
Features
ANALOG #1 MODIFICATION
Analog input and output in the range 0-5 Volts. The input is mapped via: Throttle/RPM 128 sites MAP 16 sites Air temperature 16 sites

Analog input and output in the range 0-5 Volts. The input is mapped via: Throttle/RPM 128 sites MAP 16 sites Engine temperature 16 sites
AFR MODIFICATION
The SMT7 can operate in two modes: NARROW BAND: A narrow band oxygen sensor signal can be intercepted and the output can be modified with an UNLINEAR or LINEAR algorithm. The input signal is decoded to display AFR. WIDE BAND: A wide band (5 wire) oxygen sensor signal can be modified to change the AFR loop setting. The wide band AFR can’t be displayed. The output signal (modification) is mapped via: Throttle/RPM 128 sites
IGNITION
The SMT7 can operate in 16 modes relating to trigger patterns. It has two primary circuits: CB1 and CB2. Each circuit consists of a balanced and a high-level trigger input. Each circuit has a balanced output of 0-12 volts. CB1 has an additional BIPOLAR output. Both circuits can operate simultaneously and can retard or advance the output from the input. The outputs are mapped via: Throttle/RPM 128 sites MAP 16 sites Air temperature 16 sites The simultaneous advance and retard of TWO signal allows the crank and CAM signal modification. Advancing and retarding is up to 90 degrees!
INJECTION
The SMT7 can drive one 13 ohm injector directly. The injection length is mapped via: Throttle/RPM 128 sites MAP 16 sites
AFR LOOP
This feature allows the conversion of a non-lambda car to a CLOSED LOOP LAMBDA car. The AFR loop can accept narrow band sensors directly or a linear output of an external wide band sensor. The map allows full or partial loop control via: Throttle/RPM 128 sites AFR targets 8 sites The fuel modification is to the ANALOG #1 output.
BOOST CONTROL
Allows the control of the turbo boost pressure in a previous non-boost controlled car. Boost control is done via a PWM bleed valve. Mapping is via: RPM 16 sites Target boost 16 sites The bleed valve can be driven directly from the SMT7.
SETPOINT
The new enhanced set point feature has 12 set points and 3 relays drive outputs. Two inputs can be combined in an AND/OR fashion, and the polarity can be chosen for each input.
ROAD SPEED CONTROL
The road speed limiter can do the following: a) Change the indicated road speed by a percentage up or down. b) Limit the road speed output to a set value
LAUNCH CONTROL
An extra input allows traditional launch control. Once activated the ignition is retarded until the specified RPM is reached under full throttle. This allows the boost build-up of a turbo on the start line, and once the clutch is released the ignition is advanced again to the normal point.
MEMORY and MAPS
The SMT7 has two COMPLETE maps, unlike the SMT6, which shared the global setup. This allows for different calibration and different global setting between map A and map B. Map switching is the same as in the SMT6. The map updating is much faster. The PC operation for map saving, storing and naming has been made easier. The saving of a tuned map is different and extra security prevents the loss of any tuned number saved.
ENGINE PARAMETER DISPLAY
The SMT7 transmits 28 inputs and computed variables. These variables can be logged on the PC, graphically displayed, and displayed numerically on different screens. This gives the tuner a very good “view” of the engine and helps during the installation.
COMPATIBLE TO WINDOWS XP
The SMT7 communications protocol has changed to be compatible to WINDOWS XP. This also allows for the multi-language feature to be implemented
LOGGING
The SMT7 can log the time operated in the main map (128 sites).
HELP
The help is online and consist of subject orientated help pages. A manual is not envisaged at this time.
MAX RECORDING
The SMT7 records: maximum RPM, maximum MAP, maximum engine temperature, maximum air temperature
DOS SOFTWARE
The DOS software is not available.
FIELD UPGRADEABLE
This new feature allows the firmware upgrade of units within the first 6 month. The upgrade requires the downloading of the upgrade from the website and special PC software.
PC SOFTWARE
The WINDOWS PC software is task orientated and all variables, displays and setup pertaining to a specific task are contained on a screen. Task (features) can be disabled and the SMT7 can be structured to suit the application and user. Setup wizards and signal calibration make the startup user friendly.
